Feelin' a little Hypster today

Today felt like a day to share some love for hipsters. Well, just Hypster, the rest can die in a fire for all I care (unless that's too mainstream of a way to die).

Anyways, Hypster is an up and coming electro house producer currently signed to Plasmapool records and Houserecordings. His productions give off an uplifting disco-esque vibe that will make you move to the music whether you like it or not. Check out the link below to see what I'm talking about!

Just Do The Cascada

So I finally finished this mashup and I'm pretty happy with it. It combines Cascada's Evacuate The Dancefloor and Dada Life's Fight Club Is Closed. Check out the link below!

A full 320 KBps version will be available once my facebook page receives 50 likes, so get on that!

If you haven't seen it yet, this is what i'll be working with for my mixes, productions and mashups. It's nothing special, except for the Traktor S4. That thing is a beast!

Some Friday Bass

A Friday isn't a Friday without some dirty bass and Clockwork's remix of Swagger by Dem Slackers isn't one to disappoint. Clockwork took the already filthy original and reworked the bassline to create a heavy electro house/electro tune. Below is a link to the song on his soundcloud, I recommend checking out his other work as well!

Swagger (Clockwork Remix)- Dem Slackers OUT NOW!!!!! by ClockworkMusic

If you haven't done so yet check out my minimix below! More of that soon, in longer form of course.

Housey as F***!

Alright so the tune I've been feeling recently is Truelove's Jack House remake of Rock the Casbah. Its not a banger in the slightest, but it's got that typical house groove that makes you want to dance. The glitchy vocal samples used in each verse add some complexity to an otherwise simple track. This remake even samples the original's chorus during the breakdown. Check it out below!

Feed Me @ Babylon Night Club - Ottawa June 3rd

If you haven't checked out Feed Me yet, do yourself a favor and give his EP's a listen. In case you don't know, Feed Me is the Electro House side project of Drum and Bass producer Spor, signed to Deadmau5's label mau5trap. His guitar-esque leads created with uplifting synths creates a sound that is unique in today's shrinking world of electronic dance music creativity. His latest EP, To The Stars dropped on June 3rd.

Feed Me was at Babylon night club in Ottawa this past Thursday and man DOES HE PUT ON A SHOW! Dubstep, Drum and Bass and Electro House were being cranked all night on a nicely calibrated sound system (aka: No ringing ears!). After drooling over the set up he was DJing on (2 x CDJ-2000's and a DJM-900), it was nice to see that he was feeding off the crowd's energy and controlling it like a DJ should be doing. He also kept the crowd's thirst quenched by pouring Grey Goose into the crowd's mouths. What was even better is the fact that he stayed around after the show to talk to the fans and sign some of his awesome Feed Me stickers.

The best part was when he dropped "Pink Lady" off of his new EP (To The Stars). It's an unique track for sure, containing the high-pitched leads that dutch house is famous for, a filty dub/brostep bass line and an odd tempo, different than the typical house and dubstep tempos. I linked the track below so you can see what I mean.

Overall, it was quite the party and a night to remember for sure. This is only the beginning for this rising star as well, I can't wait for what he has planned next.
